Tour Itinerary

Three years ago, after I came back from my New Zealand holiday, I told my parents that it was my dream to bring them there for a holiday someday.

Today, this dream is about to come true. I am both very happy and thankful for this as we haven't gone on a holiday as a family for quite some time already.

The itinerary I have planned is as follows:


DAY 1 : 01 NOV, 2007

Check in at Changi International Airport Terminal 1.

08:00 PM (SIN TIME)
Depart Singapore. Enjoy the flight to Sydney onboard Qantas Airlines QF320.



DAY 2 : 02 NOV, 2007

BREAKFAST ON BOARD

Arrive Sydney. Kingsford Smith Airport Terminal 1.

08:50 AM (AU TIME)
Depart Sydney. Enjoy the flight to Christchurch onboard Qantas Airlines QF205.

01:50 PM (NZ TIME)
Arrive Christchurch. Terminal M.

02:00 PM (NZ TIME)
Immigration procedures and transfer to Belle Bonne Motel for check-in.

04:00 PM (NZ TIME)
In the evening, take a ride onboard both the Christchurch Gondola and Tram. Time to explore the city at convenience.



DAY 3 : 03 NOV, 2007

Rise and shine. Quick breakfast and check out of motel.

Gather at Intercity Coachlines pickup location - Ritchies Travel, 123 Worcester Street.

Depart for Dunedin.

Arrive Dunedin. Dropoff location - Ritchies / Intercity Travel, 205 St. Andrew's Street.

Transfer to Cable Court Motel for check-in. Rest of day at leisure.

Rise and shine. Morning at leisure. Visit Cadbury World if time permits.

Check out of motel and dine for lunch at convenience.

Gather at Intercity Coachlines pickup location - Ritchies / Intercity Travel, 205 St. Andrew's Street.

01:55 PM (NZ TIME)
Depart for Te Anau.

04:35 PM (NZ TIME)
Transfer to Intercity Coachlines 8112 at Gore. Location - Outside i-SITE, 16 Hokonui Drive.

Arrive Te Anau. Dropoff location - Real Journey Visitor Centre, Lakefront Drive.

Gather outside Anchorage Motel for pickup by Real Journeys coach and depart for Milford Sound.

Arrive Milford Sound.

Depart for Milford Sound Overnight Cruise onboard Milford Wanderer. Cruise the full length of the spectacular fiord to the Tasman Sea. Explore the surroundings in the tender craft and kayaks or simply relax on deck - the choice is yours. Then enjoy a delicious meal in the cosy saloon before anchoring for the night in Harrison Cove.



DAY 6 : 06 NOV, 2007
(MILFORD SOUND - QUEENSTOWN - ARROWTOWN)
BREAKFAST ON BOARD MILFORD WANDERER

06:00 AM (NZ TIME)
Wake up early to enjoy the sunrise. Have breakfast onboard before the ship returns to pier.

09:30 AM (NZ TIME)
End of overnight cruise. Depart Milford Sound on Real Journeys coach to Queenstown.

03:30 PM (NZ TIME)
Arrive Queenstown.

03:45 PM (NZ TIME)
Transfer to Viking Lodge Motel for check-in.

04:20 PM (NZ TIME)
In the evening, why not take a leisurely browse through the main street's shops and cafes? Alternatively, take the Arrowtown bus to Queenstown to do some self-exploration, shopping and have dinner.



DAY 7 : 07 NOV, 2007
(ARROWTOWN - QUEENSTOWN)
BBQ LUNCH AT WALTER PEAK

Rise and shine. Have breakfast at one of Arrowtown's cafes.

10:30 AM (NZ TIME)
Check out of motel and transfer to Real Journeys pickup location for TSS Earnslaw Cruise and Walter Peak farm tour.

12:00 PM (NZ TIME)
Travel to Walter Peak on the TSS Earnslaw steamship, known locally as "Lady of the Lake". Feel the heat of the boilers and hear the steam engines rolling on this steamship.

12:30 PM (NZ TIME)
Arrive Walter Peak. Enjoy a BBQ Lunch before joining the guided farmyard walking tour by a farm host.

03:00 PM (NZ TIME)
Walter Peak farm excursion concludes. Travel to Real Journeys dropoff location on the TSS Earnslaw steamship.

03:30 PM (NZ TIME)
Transfer to Sherwood Manor Hotel for check-in.

04:30 PM (NZ TIME)
Travel to Queenstown city centre for dinner and shopping.



DAY 8 : 08 NOV, 2007

Arrive Greymouth. Dropoff location - Greymouth Railway Station, 164 Mackay Street.

Check-in at counter for transfer to Christchurch onboard the Tranz Alpine train.

01:45 PM (NZ TIME)
Depart for Christchurch. Rated as one of the most scenic train journeys in the world, the Tranz Alpine will take you from lush green forest and idyllic lakes through the spectacular gorges and viaducts of the Southern Alps mountain ranges, before crossing the Canterbury Plains to Christchurch.

Arrive Christchurch. Dropoff location - Christchurch Railway Station, Troup Drive.

Arrive Mount Potts high country station, home of Mount Sunday. See how this peaceful mountain was transformed into Edoras, the capital city of the Rohan people in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Immerse in the natural unspoilt beauty of the high country's sparkling clear lakes, glistening blue rivers and fresh mountain air.

12:30 PM (NZ TIME)
Enjoy a champagne picnic lunch on Edoras itself, before proceeding with the rest of the day's adventure.

04:00 PM (NZ TIME)
End of Lord of the Rings tour. Depart Mount Sunday on Hassle Free Tours coach to Christchurch.

06:00 PM (NZ TIME)
Arrive Christchurch.
